IN-DISH – indian jewel in the inner city

„Indian food is the only cuisine in the world where you can find all 6 basic tastes in one sigle dish.“- Vikar Khan, In-dish

The In-Dish in Vienna is the place to be if you fancy Indian cuisine but don’t want the typical curry stand clichés. It is located on Schwarzenbergplatz in the 1st district. Here you get authentic flavors combined with a touch of modernity – all in a setting that looks like it came straight out of an interiors magazine.

The philosophy of In-Dish is based on the concept of fusing traditional Indian flavors with innovative culinary creations. This creates an advanced dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary curry house. The menu offers a variety of dishes that appeal to both vegetarians and meat lovers.

Here’s a bit of real talk: I love food, but I love good interiors almost as much. And the in-dish doesn’t disappoint. The combination of dark wood details, warm lighting and gold accents feels like a hug – but with style. It’s cozy but not overloaded, modern but still with an Indian flair.

I think it’s particularly cool that the interior of the In-dish restaurant doesn’t try to be “typically Indian”, but rather works with small details. You can tell that someone has really thought through this to ensure that the ambience has as much attention to detail as the food. I’m also a big fan of design outside. The logo is subtle, but can still be seen clearly from afar. Everything done right.

This time we really went for the meal. We tried 5 different dishes at In-dish restaurant. Once the classic. The “old Delhi butter chicken”. Juicy chicken breast pieces served in creamy tomato cashew curry and refined with cream. We also ordered the “CTM (Chicken Tikka Masala)”. Also chicken breast pieces with tomato curry and cream. The third curry dish was the “Safrani Kalb Korma”. Tender veal in saffron korma curry with almonds in a clay pot.

We ordered the “Palak Paneer” as a vegetarian dish. Homemade Indian cheese on leaf spinach curry. And the “Chicken Ramen” is a special. Tandoori chicken prepared in a garam. Masala, stock, egg and frame noodles. A cool mix of Indian and Asian cuisine. We all shared a large naan bread with butter. A practical tip for everyone who doesn’t like eating spicy or spicy foods.

To drink, I couldn’t help but order an Aperol Spritz as usual. But many other drinks are also offered. As well as the in-dish lemonade called pink grapefruit lychee. Everything is prepared very carefully and beautifully. It tastes and looks very nice too. what more could you want?

In-Dish is not just a restaurant, but an experience. It shows how diverse and modern Indian cuisine can be without losing its roots. For me, it’s a place where I feel good, eat well and get inspired – and that’s exactly what I want from a perfect dinner spot.

The restaurant was completely full within half an hour. That speaks for itself. The waiters were very nice and friendly. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. They were spicy, but that’s exactly what you expect there. Delicious. In principle, I can recommend the in-dish restaurant to everyone who likes Indian cuisine and enjoys delicious food.

Conclusion:

in-dish is a great restaurant for indian cuisine
