Bon Vivant – a feeling like in france

Bienvenue dans la petite France – welcome to little France

The Bon Vivant is a cute French bar/bistro that has just opened in Vienna. It is located in the 1st district of Vienna. The connection there is perfect as the restaurant is very centrally located. Vin et plus – means something like “wine and more”, because there is a large selection of different French wines here, regardless of which region of France.

The restaurant has a very elegant and classic style. It is very clean from the outside and delightfully cozy inside. There is a unique combination of different materials and colors – that’s my engineer speaking – and yet it’s very comfortable. It’s not too big, so it’s perfect for a relaxed evening. Just have a few drinks and snacks with friends or your partner and talk about everything. The Bon Vivant embodies somehow the lifestyle of the French. – to celebrate the evening.

Of course I had to order my beloved Aperol Spritz. Anyone who knows me just knows that I hardly drink anything else when I have the chance. Despite the large selection of wines and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Bon Vivant offers classic bistro food. We once had the beef tartar, the salmon tartar and escargots de gugumuck (snails with herb butter and baguette). Many may be surprised by the snails, but in Austria they are also considered a delicacy and have been eaten at special events for generations.  The selection on the menu was limited, but everyone could easily find something they wanted. As an extra snack, we nostalgically ordered French fries.

The whole concept of the bar is very refreshing for Vienna. It’s elegant and quiet and you can easily chat with friends without it getting too noisy or playing too loud music. The bar is definitely recommended. In principle the price-performance ratio was reasonable, but you should note that the portions are a bit small. It’s also completely understandable since you’re in a bar and not a restaurant.

Conclusion:

a great bar for girls nights

Address:

Seilergasse 14

1010 Wien

Tip:

Get over yourself and try the snails – maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised afterwards.
