Falkensteiner Balance Resort – one moment of calm

Welcome to the Falkeinsteiner Balance Resort – Premium Adults only wellness hotel in Stegersbach.

The Falkensteiner wellness hotel is truly a blessing for body and soul, simply perfect for relaxation. The hotel has 5 stars, top service and we had chosen the all-inclusive package (but this does not include drinks, apart from water of course). It is located in beautiful southern Burgenland, Austria where you are completely surrounded by nature and can leave all the stress of everyday life behind you. The entire concept of the hotel is designed to relax the body and the soul.

Nature. Health. Balance – the motto of this hotel. And you notice this no matter where and at what time. – you just feel closer to nature.Perhaps the reason is that the largest permaculture garden in all of Austria is grown here, from which all the herbs are used, for example in food, massages, saunas and much more. We were here for a few days and I have rarely been as relaxed as I was after these days. – So if you ever feel like letting yourself go completely and doing something good for yourself, this is definitely the right place for you.

The room

Just WOW when we entered – we had booked the deluxe room – I was speechless in the first few seconds. It was huge, very bright and friendly. The highlight for me was the bathroom with the perfect mirror for every woman and our large balcony from which we could look over the entire valley – saw a few unforgettable sunrises. The room was very modern and had enough space for everything. – even to dance.

The Breakfast

For breakfast there was a large all-you-can-eat buffet every day – of course at a high level. They had a little bit of everything with the basic concept: Healthy. There was a lot of fruit, you could even make your own juice in the morning as you wish. A large selection of cheese, fish and meat, lots of microgreens (sprouts) – a huge plus for me – fresh pastries and my highlight was the honeycomb – I have never seen one in real life. The breakfast varied a little every day so it couldn’t get boring. So after this delicious and, most importantly, healthy breakfast, you were well fortified for the SPA.

The Lunch

Light Lunch was the concept for the lunch, which is offered next to the SPA area in the garden restaurant from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. – The concept is very simple. First it is the starter which is served on a serving rack with 3 different plates per table. On two of these plates there are small and different starters and on the third there are some bread. Afterwards you can get a soup of the day and then you can choose between 2 main courses. The portions here are much smaller than usual, but since you don’t want to overeat because of the SPA, they are completely sufficient. The drinks available were only light aperitifs, wine and beer. – no cocktails.

The Dinner

Dinner is in a category all of its own – simply incredibly aesthetically pleasing food that also tastes good. Thumbs up! The dinner consisted of 6 courses – the starter – the salad bar – the soup – the main course – the dessert and the cheese counter. The portions here weren’t the largest, but the whole course still leaves you full and without a feeling of heaviness. The menu was completely new every day and there was never anything twice. In principle you always have the option to choose between 3 dishes (except for salad and cheese – there is a self-service buffet). The 3 dishes per course were either Panonian, Mediterranean or Asian and you could choose the combination yourself. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to order a cocktail for dinner here either.

The Pool-Area

The thermal area begins first with the pool area. The hotel has 2 infinity pools – heated and unheated, both with a view of the beautiful nature. In this area there were the most loungers – either inside or outside – the loungers were all of very high quality and you could relax on them and even take a relaxing nap. Another benefit is the endless towel bar – you could take as many towels as you wanted at any time – practical so that you don’t have to lie on the wet towel after swimming.

The Sauna-Area

The sauna area was my favorite area in the whole spa. Because of the aromas that were exuded and the peace and quiet, it was simply the perfect place to relax. This area is a bikini-free zone – it may be a bit strange for many at first, but it is very mentally liberating. There were 5 different saunas to choose from: 2 steam saunas, 2 averagely hot and 1 Finnish (which was the largest). 2-3 infusions were offered per day – but these could be more often then there wouldn’t be such a big rush. There is a large whirlpool outside where you can acclimatise after the sauna and shower.

The only drawback is that there is only water to drink in the pool & sauna area – I personally really missed sipping a cocktail in the water, but I understand that it doesn’t fit the concept.

The SPA

What would a wellness hotel be without its SPA area? The SPA area was surprisingly large and had a lot of options for procedures to choose from. Whether facials, massages or health-promoting treatments – there is something of everything. Since we are in a healthy wellness hotel, I treated myself with a lymphatic drainage to purify the body. I was pleasantly surprised at how much flatter my stomach was after the treatment – I will definitely do it more often.

My Summary

In simple words – 5 stars. The hotel has a concept that takes some getting used to because everything is geared towards health, whether physical or psychological. After a few days I didn’t want to leave anymore, there were just moments of calm that I will miss but I am definitely coming back.

a perfect hotel to relax your body and soul
