„All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast“ – John Gunther, Cafe Florentin
Modern eastern food with a slight touch of serenity and nature. Welcome to Cafe Florentin, in the 7th district in Vienna. The Florentin is a small restaurant but you’ll be surprised at what you get there.
From the outside you can see the rather inconspicuous facade with the simple “Florentin” logo, a white-orange striped awning and many colored armchairs. So a colorful mix of different styles. I think that’s exactly what this cafe wants to tell you. It’s a simple mix of everything. And the same thing goes on inside. The Florentin is a small, cozy cafe where you can try something new for brunch.
At the start of every good breakfast or brunch, a glass of Prosecco and freshly squeezed orange juice is important. we have to look at our vitamins. After the vitamin bomb, it’s time to eat. The menu is surprisingly varied. There is a good selection of Sweets & Healthy, Veggie, Eggs, different sandwiches and some signature dishes.
Since the selection at Cafe Florentin is so varied, I decided on the “Loaded Humes”. This is a plate with hummus, tahini, various spices and falafels and pita bread. I also ordered the “Breakfast Sandwich”. Consisting of grilled chicken, omelette, fried onions and Joseph bread. And finally I had to try the “Spicy Chorizo Omelette”. This consisted of 2 eggs, cheese, jalapeño and Joseph bread.
All in all, Cafe Florentin is a cozy cafe for brunch and trying out middle eastern food. I would say it fits in the 7th district, as this is called the boho district among the Viennese. Urban and nature are very important here. It’s about simple comfort and something little special. And Cafe Florentin definitely fits in there.
