Kolarik is a popular, family-run restaurant in the Prater, one of the city’s most famous recreational areas. The restaurant is characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and a wide gastronomic selection, which is particularly attractive to families, larger groups and tourists.
In 1920, Karl Kolarik bought the inn and thus laid the foundation for today’s successful family restaurant. In 2021, the Kolarik – Luftburg restaurant received a complete redesign. And I would say that with complete success. One of the outstanding features of the Kolarik Restaurant is the spacious beer garden, which is surrounded by a green oasis. The outdoor area can accommodate up to 900 guests, making it ideal for relaxed summer evenings, family celebrations or large events.
The rustic wooden tables, the warm light and the lively atmosphere create an authentic Viennese Heurigen atmosphere. Inside, everything is more modern, but still very comfortable. Many bright colors and comfortable materials were used to make Kolarik Restaurant cozy. I couldn’t say whether it’s nicer inside or outside. It all looks stunning.
In terms of cuisine, the restaurant focuses heavily on Viennese cuisine and hearty delicacies. That day I had the “Ikapiri Stilt”. A classic Asian style stilt, with cucumber salad, Asian coleslaw, pickled red onions, teriyaki sauce and chili mayo. To be honest, I have never eaten anything like this anywhere. Certainly worth an experience. I also drank a mixed beer, as is appropriate for a wine this year. All dishes are prepared from 100% organic ingredients, which is a unique selling point in Vienna and underlines the modern demand for sustainability and healthy nutrition.
In summary, the Kolarik restaurant offers a unique combination of traditional Viennese cuisine, a family-friendly atmosphere and a strong focus on sustainability and organic quality. The relaxed yet lively atmosphere makes it a popular meeting place for both locals and tourists.
