Welcome to my long-awaited blog post about my wedding. I can hardly believe that I actually got married. I am so incredibly happy with how the day turned out and am grateful to everyone who was there and made this day so special.
If you don’t know, I’m a perfectionist. I planned this wedding for 1.5 years and really thought through and planned every little detail. That’s why I’d like to show you here today what the years of planning have ultimately resulted in.
Our location:
Our wedding location was a dream. I used to go there often as a child and always wanted to live in Schloss Hof near Hainburg, Austria. I went there every summer and never really wanted to leave. It’s even nicer now that I (we) got married in this place. And believe me, I felt like a real princess.
Our wedding took place at 3 areas at Schloss Hof. The reception before and after the wedding ceremony was right at the castle above. The wedding ceremony itself took place on the terrace in front of a fountain and meter-long stairs, which I could walk down like a princess. The congratulations, dinner and other evening programs then took place in the Orangery. The great thing was that everything was really only a 1 minute walk away from each other and still in the same location.
My dress:
I have to admit that I wore a total of 3 dresses at my wedding. 3 different dresses but still the same style. I think I surprised everyone with my choice and I’m really happy about that. I have to admit that I felt really comfortable in 2 out of 3 dresses. Let’s get to the details.
The first wedding dress looked great, but unfortunately it was a flop. My dress burst in the middle of the restaurant after the civil wedding and we had no chance at all of saving it. The material and everything was really nice and great but the quality of the zipper was of no good quality. For example, in the picture I was holding it the whole time.
My princess wedding dress was from Moni’s Brautmode and it was simply stunning. Just as I had wished. The long train added to the whole princess feeling. The third dress I had was a short satin tutu dress and I just danced in it for the rest of the night. It was great. Fluffy and light. Perfect for partying.
Hair & Make-up:
I have never felt as beautiful as I did that day on my wedding and I owe that to my makeup and hairstyle.
My makeup and that of my bridesmaids and my mom was done by Lala-Marsela, who I found by chance on Instagram. And I can only tell you that it was the best decision of my life. Everything was so uncomplicated and stress-free. She immediately had time for a wedding makeup sample. And on my special day she was there since early in the morning and did us all beautiful make-up. I would recommend her to any other woman who wants to get makeup done for a special occasion. I will definitely work with her more often.
I had my hair and that of my mother and my bridesmaids done by sisbeauty. Through a recommendation from one of my closest friends, I wrote to them and the two of them came and curled and pinned up their hair throughout. A great team. And i was extremly happy that the girls did everything possible to fix the crown on my head so it won´t move during the whole wedding.
Food & Catering:
The food & catering at our wedding was a complete success.
From the first conversation, all possible fears were taken away and we felt very well advised. I had always heard a lot of criticism and bad things about catering companies from friends and was therefore very careful when making my selection. But the Trabitsch catering was simply perfect. There were no complications at all in the agreement and implementation. It must also be said that the Trabitsch company knows Schloss Hof very well and is often there at various events or weddings. Of course, that made the whole thing a little easier. The caterer arrived on time on the wedding day and had everything set up in just a few minutes. We had everything roughly in place the day before and the Trabitsch company then just perfected it.
At the beginning, of our wedding, we had welcome drinks and small appetizers to satisfy our initial hunger. These were stunningly good. Then the 3-course dinner was served quickly and precisely. The waiters were friendly, professional and accommodating every second. I can only say that the Trabitsch catering was a complete success. We received unbelievable praise from every single guest about what great catering it was. 10/10.
The decoration:
I’m a real Pinterest girl. And you could clearly see that at my wedding and my friends also told me that it was a beautiful and well thought-out wedding. In principle the orangery, the name of the room, is bare. The room is indeed beautiful with the glass front and the white high walls and the traditional brick floor. Since the wedding theme for us was “Royal Garden”, I tried to bring the garden from the outside in. I also played a lot with indirect light, which is why we had a curved floor lamp above each gala table. Furthermore, my now husband wanted to set up a large pavilion over the dance floor. With large fairy lights we then have our starry sky.
In typical Pinterest-like style, I designed and implemented everything myself for our wedding. My family and friends helped me set everything up the day before the wedding the way it was in my head. I was often advised to hire a wedding planner during the engagement period, but I couldn’t. I had a precise vision in my head that I couldn’t really explain but saw. And luckily everything came together the day before and the wedding. So if anyone needs help with the deco in the future, here I am.
Dresscode:
Since I not only planned all the decorations for my wedding down to the smallest detail, I of course also had a dresscode. I know there are a few different opinions, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone was dressed perfectly.
My bridesmaids were all dressed in emerald green dresses. Each of them could choose what kind of cut they want. It was only important to me that the skirts were long. It’s just more elegant when everyone has long dresses. For this reason, the dresscode for the rest of the guests was long dresses for women and suits for men. The color was also very important to me. The bride wears white, my bridesmaids and my best friend/best man wear emerald green. And red doesn’t work at a wedding at all. Just a little tip for all future brides.
Our rings:
For us, our wedding rings are not only a sign that we are officially a married couple to the world, but also an investment. That’s why we deliberately chose rings from Tiffany’s. My engagement ring was already from there so it kind of made sense for us to buy our wedding rings there too.
The saleswoman named Julianna was super nice and also happened to be Slovakian. So we got along very well straight away. We went to Tiffany’s a total of 3 times. The pre-selection took place about exactly 1 year before the wedding and we bought the rings about 8 months before. Since we also had our wedding date engraved, we picked up the rings about 3 months before the wedding.
Photographer:
I looked for a good photographer in Vienna for a really long time, but unfortunately none of them met my expectations. By chance, I was recommended Burcu by a former school colleague and was thrilled. She came especially from Germany to be present on our special day. She was constantly present from getting ready, through the whole wedding to the party. And the photos are really amazing.
It was fundamentally important to me to feel comfortable. I didn’t want to pretend with the photos that capture this day. I didn’t want any stress, I just wanted simple, romantic royal vogue-like shots. And I got really incredible images. What was also great was that sometimes she was so “invisible” that I didn’t notice her myself, like at the wedding. Perfect. So if you would like to have such great photos, please contact her.
Summary:
The day was so incredibly beautiful and I remember this day full of positive emotions that even as I write this I could cry about how happy I am about it. The day was over quickly, but I was able to really enjoy it.
First of all, I would like to say that I don’t want to show off or trigger anyone with my blog post. I just want to share with you the most beautiful day of my life and sincerely hope that someone likes it and that I was able to inspire some of you.
