„Eating an oyster is like kissing the sea on the lips.“ – Leon Paul Fargue, Oysterini
A new unique place has opened in Vienna and it specializes in something very special. I am pleased to introduce you to the Oysterini restaurant in the 1st district of Vienna. A small French-inspired restaurant that offers expensive delicacies that you can’t get in this style anywhere else in Vienna.
The oysterni restaurant has spared no effort to create an extravagant ambience. From outside it is discreetly decorated in blue, but a huge illuminated oyster with a pearl gives you an idea of what awaits you inside. Inside everything is very bright and shiny. The blue velvet chairs fit the overall concept perfectly. This way you can enjoy the oysters and other seafood even better.
Oysters as far as you can see. The oysterni restaurant offers a variety of different oysters in various categories as well as a fine selection of various seafood. And since the menu from the oyseterini restaurant was very appealing, we decided on the following. The “Ocean” record. Consisting of 12 oysters (chef selection & 4 gillardeau), bluefin-tuna sashimi, scallops sashimi, oscietra imperial caviar and with 2 glasses of Moët Brut. Soy sauce, lemon and chili oil are also served on the platter.
We were also offered fresh sea urchin, the first of the season. I was very excited about the taste as I have never eaten it before. A true delicacy in the oysterini restaurant. The taste of the sea urchins was somewhat reminiscent of oysters but even more intense. Like tasting the sea. Before the platter we ordered 2 Prosecco with Yuzu liqueur as a small starter. For dessert I tried the crème brûlée.
Ever since I was in London in November last year (blog post) I’ve been dying to eat oysters again. And that’s why I’m very happy that the restaurant Oysterni has opened in Vienna. A place where you feel like a VIP. The food, the service and the overall service was very good – the best thing for me was that we sat right at the bar and could watch the oysters being prepared. Fascinating!
A little explanation for everyone who may not know oysters that well, but would like to try them. Oysters are pure protein and taste like the sea. To make this taste even fresher, lemon is usually drizzled on top. If you want it a little spicier, you can use some chili oil or Tabasco sauce. In principle, oysters are a delicacy that you like or don’t like. And if you don’t know yet, then it’s best to try it out immediately and visit the Oysterini restaurant.
Conclusion:
a true pearl in Vienna
