„A piece of naples in the center of vienna“ – Regina Margherita
The Italian restaurant Regina Margherita is located deep in the heart of Vienna’s 1st district. Hidden in the inner courtyard of Palais Esterhazy is the popular Viennese pizzeria. And you notice that at first glance. Almost every seat is occupied and without a reservation it is not easy to get a seat.
The Pizzeria Regina Margherita has been and still is a real family business for decades. The Barbaro family ensures that typical Italian family feeling with the whole family. In addition, the best Italian food is imported weekly. – a real treat for gourmets. The Regina Margherita restaurant simply exudes an authentic Italian attitude to life that you otherwise only know from vacation.
I have to admit I only know the restaurant from the outside. I know shame on me. But the terrace is the identifying mark of the Pizzeria Regina Margherita. Because no matter what time of year you can always sit outside. And Italians are known for spending most of their time outside. In summer it feels like a garden and in winter it feels like a cozy cabin. The flair always fits in the Pizzeria Regina Margherita, no matter what time oft he year it is.
The menu at the Regina Margherita restaurant is truly enormous. There is so much delicious choice that you can’t help but order just one dish. Whether fish, meat, pasta or pizza, there is enough choice. And since I’ve heard so much about the pizza here, of course I have to try it. And that’s when I discovered La Tartufo pizza. Me and truffles – a love story. A dream of a pizza with mozzarella, mushrooms, caciocavallo cheese, truffle cream and black truffle. Another pizza that we tried is the Mimosa. No, I don’t mean the cocktail, but a pizza with tomatoes, corn, buffalo mozzarella, rocket and Grana Padano. And as a starter we had the tenderly sliced beef carpaccio with rocket & Grana Padano, served with warm white bread.
You could say that the Regina Margherita restaurant is a hidden oasis for Viennese people where they can escape the city in the middle of the city. The pizzeria simply exudes this joy of life that is immediately contagious. And I’m not just saying that because the Aperols were very good. I also think it’s great that you can tell that the place is run by real Italians. That immediately gives you a different feeling, in the best sense of the word. That is certainly one reason why the restaurant is so popular.
I am positively impressed by the overall appearance of the location. What has now become unique in Vienna is that you can eat in peace without being charged by the waiter because the next guests are waiting. In the restaurant Regina Margherita you can still enjoy togetherness and good food in the classic way without stress. Thumbs up!
