In 1977, Michael Satke founded the Reiss bar and it was considered the first champagne bar in the world and has achieved legendary status in the Viennese gastronomy scene. This then became the Roberta Bar and this year it shines again in its old/new splendor.
The Reiss Bar is characterized by its elegant interior, which combines vintage elements with contemporary design. Dark wooden furniture, dimmed lighting, light shimmer and red velvet create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The walls are a bold burgundy color and decorated with gold details reminiscent of the golden era of Vienna’s local scene. The ambience remains modern and inviting, which gives the Reiss Bar a unique charm. From the outside, I was impressed by the facade made of dark marble and the subtle writing.
A special highlight of the Reiss Bar is the well-thought-out drinks menu. High-quality cocktails and classic drinks are served here, prepared with great attention to detail. Particularly popular are our own creations, which are on the Reiss Bar’s seasonal menu and often surprise with fresh ingredients and special flavors. You can tell that the bartenders know something about their craft and like to experiment successfully.
The Reiss Bar’s cocktail menu may be very simple in appearance, but there are real treasures inside. Which also have slightly more special names every now and then. This time we decided on the classic Pornstar martini, Basil Smash and our own creation from the Reiss Bar, whose name I honestly can’t remember. But that’s not necessary because I know it was delicious and in the end that’s what counts, right?
