Restaurant Klyo – healthy fuel for you

The restaurant Klyo is located in the 1st district of Vienna, directly on the famous Danube Canal. The restaurant is located in a historic cinema and has a terrace and even a jetty overlooking the Danube Canal. A trendy oasis in Vienna that you wouldn’t see at first glance.

The concept of the entire restaurant is to present healthy dishes. And you can see the concept right from the design of the Klyo restaurant. Everything revolves around plants. These hang from the lamps, there is plant wallpaper and there are cute little trees everywhere on the terrace. The restaurant is rather modern and is made cozier by the different pastel colors on the walls.

Since the weather is finally nice again, I treated myself to a small aperitif in the Klyo restaurant. They have a watermelon spritz on their special drinks menu. Consisting of prosecco, watermelon and soda. Very sweet and refreshing. We also ordered the ginger lemon lemonade (sugar-free). Consisting of ginger, mint, lemon and soda. A little too sour for my taste, but still refreshing.

The Klyo restaurant is very focused on zodiac signs. This is where my little inner witch comes out. I’m immediately enthusiastic about something like that. There is a cocktail for each zodiac sign as well as one specifically for the zodiac sign at the current time of year. Great!

That day I decided on the “Nordic” breakfast. Consisting of Öfferl bread, smoked salmon, Kren-gervaiscreme (Austrian cream cheese) and chives. Add a slice of lemon and it was served. To my pleasant surprise, the portion was really big. Because it was 2 large slices of bread. Personally, one would have been enough for me, but that way you definitely won’t be hungry anymore. We also ordered the power omelet. Consisting of 3 eggs, chicken, avocado, dried tomatoes, herbs and a little crusty bread. A real protein bomb.

What I think is really cool, is that the number of grams of protein is listed for each dish. Given the current health and fitness trends, this is a great thing. This reminds me a bit of London, where they write down the calories. Big plus point.

I have to say that I really like the concept of the Klyo restaurant. The food was very tasty and the portions were large. I love the details with the protein content. Furthermore, the service was very quick and the food was at the table incredibly quickly. Terrific. I think my personal highlight was the zodiac cocktails.
