Vienna at Christmas is a truly magical experience. The city is ablaze with festive splendor, with twinkling lights decorating the streets and squares. The scent of mulled wine, chestnuts and cinnamon wafts through the air and invites you to stroll through the famous Christmas markets. Here visitors will find handmade gifts, delicious treats and a cozy, contemplative atmosphere.
The city’s historic buildings look particularly impressive in the winter setting, and the numerous concerts and nativity plays create a festive atmosphere. St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg and Schönbrunn Palace are particularly charming at this time. Vienna offers a perfect combination of tradition, culture and festive magic that makes the magic of Advent time unforgettable.

I also think the different lights on the trees are particularly beautiful, such as the heart tree. Love it! The Christmas market on Rathausplatz is a must for anyone who wants to experience the magic of Christmas in Vienna.
Kohlmarkt / Graben:

Summary:
Vienna is simply even more beautiful at Christmas time. No wonder it’s my favorite time of the year. I love walking around the city, but when everything is lit up in different lights, it tempts me even more. No matter whether alone, with family or friends. Everyone is amazed and suddenly the cold doesn’t bother you anymore.
My personal opinion on all the markets that I have shown you here is the following:
The Christmas market on Rathausplatz is simply a must for me. At least once every year.
The Christmas market at Stephansplatz is great if you want to drink a quick punch.
The Christmas market is my favorite when I want to have a drink and gossip with friends.
The Christmas market between the museums is perfect for family gatherings.
