The bank is THE fancy restaurant in the 1st district of Vienna. A true hotspot for the whole world. Because the legendary restaurant is located in the luxury hotel Park Hyatt, one of the classiest and most expensive hotels in all of Vienna. No wonder that the restaurant only too easily meets the high expectations of all its guests.
Marble and gold everywhere you look. Velvet-covered elegant furniture in a soft blue and the spectacular light flowers made of glass/crystals. So the overall impression radiates pure luxury. And that’s why you should behave and dress like that. There is no bigger faux pas than showing up at a location like this in inappropriate clothing – the Viennese are very strict and let you notice it.
The dinner is really celebrated in these circles. The greatest luxury is taking time for your fellow human beings and eating. Therefore the whole dinner took a little over 3 hours in total. – it’s just not for everyone. The aperitifs are truly sensational and a feast for the eyes. No wonder the bar is so busy every evening. Bread and butter are served before the starter – a classic and perfect to satisfy your first little hunger.
As a starter I chose the restaurant’s signature dish, the beef tarter. – the truffles were a surprise and they were very successful. As a main course I once ordered the truffle pasta – unfortunately I didn’t like it at all. A pity! Another dish I tried was the steak, the lady’s cut, and it was excellent. It should also be noted that the dishes are constantly being changed and you can constantly taste new creations.
The entire ambience of the place is incredible. A feeling like being in a tsar’s villa. The service was also very professional and attentive. The food was generally very tasty, with a minor exceptions. What you also have to note is that the portions are typically smaller in posh restaurants – you shouldn’t forget that. Nevertheless, the bank is a true and undefeated hotspot in Vienna.
